Our approach

IECL is aligned with the International Coaching Federation. We believe the client is the expert in their life and work, and our coaching approach honours that. With this philosophy in mind, we believe it is the coach’s responsibility to:

Adult Learning

Our approach to coach training is based on adult learning theory. This means it’s highly experiential and practical. As a result our students leave our training with the confidence to coach immediately.

Social Learning

IECL’s social approach to learning ensures optimal integration of knowledge and skills that creates confident coaches.

Strengths-Based Coaching

Our cross-disciplinary approach teaches a strengths-based model of coaching. IECL coaching is always solutions-focused.

Recognised by the Industry

IECL’s Coach Accreditation ensures coaches are trained in ICF Core Competencies and meet the standards required by our corporate clients. In 2022 we are working with ICF to transition our Accredited Coach Training to ICF Level 2.

Languages
Currently IECL coach education is conducted in Cantonese (some Hong Kong courses), Mandarin (some China courses) and English (all other courses). Language of instruction is clearly indicated in each course listing.

Whether you are new to coaching or looking to take your coaching skills to the next level, we offer world class, and highly regarded organisational coach training programs, with a number of flexible pathways to choose from.

In 2022 IECL’s accreditation pathway consists of three levels of coach training, and our courses are accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP). In 2023 IECL will offer ICF Accredited Level 1 and Level 2 Coach Education, including some of our current courses, and some new courses. Find out more.

All IECL alumni have the opportunity to gain full credit for their IECL coach training in Charles Sturt University’s Graduate Diploma of Organisational Coaching and Leadership. Find out more about the Charles Sturt University Graduate Diploma here.

Whether you have trained with IECL or elsewhere, you can continue to develop your skills and gain continuing coach education units (CCEUs) for ICF through our continuous professional development program.
